You Can Sit With Us: Getting To Know…Emma Soulsby

First off, we think you’re fabulous.

Thank you so much, I think you are pretty amazing too!

When did we become wedding industry besties?

That would be from when I did the flower display for your Berta runway at The Kimpton Fitzroy!

We love your companies ethos, tell us more.

Every couple is unique, they have unique personalities, unique styles, they all came together as couples in their own unique way, so for me, it’s incredibly important to combine all of those elements of my couple into their floral arrangements. As much as it is about creating something magnificent, it’s also about telling a love story and hey, who doesn’t love a love story?

Do you have any fashion or beauty rules?

I’m obsessed with skin and making sure my skin is in the best condition it can possibly be in. Trinny Woodall is AMAZING….have you seen her videos? Literally, I’m obsessed with her and everything that she says you should do to get great skin I will do! I use a dermaroller 3 times a week and regular face masks. It’s hard work being a woman haha! But I definitely love the little bit of me-time I get!

What do you bring to a bride’s day that others cannot?

I bring me….I know that sounds a bit cliché but it’s true…I like to think of myself as a people person, someone that, even though I have a particular style, I will always listen to what my bride wants but I will also give my suggestions and open her up to other possibilities, things that she may never have even thought of before. I see flowers as art, as a way of expression and I like to think I carry that through in the floral designs I create.

You inspire us. What inspires you?

I definitely, get inspired by nature….being from the North and now living in London, I don’t have the endless view of green fields and wildflowers anymore….however, nature is still around us, even in bustling London. That as well as people watching (those that are hopelessly in love) and visiting art galleries, gives me my inspiration.

A tip for brides before, during and after their wedding?

Take in every moment…..a wedding can go past so fast, from the planning process to the actual day, so make sure you take moments of time out to really cherish the process, to remember why you are getting married and what it means to you and take time together on your wedding day to just be together as newlyweds. Then after the day…..have a rip raving good time and live life to the full!!

Where can we find you?
