Alessandra and Adam tied the knot at a stylish Italian ceremony, celebrating their love story at what looks and sounds like a wonderful wedding!
How did you meet?
In London through mutual friends. I had just returned from living in NYC. We had lived in the same neighbourhood as children and shared many mutual friends but had somehow never met.
Was it love at first sight?
Yes. The second I looked into his (very blue) eyes I felt as though I had known him my entire life.
Who proposed and how? Lovely details, please!
He proposed in the extremely romantic city of Bruges just a few days before the pandemic shut all the borders. We were very lucky to share that moment before it would have become impossible.
Did you have a theme for your wedding? How did it come about?
No theme but we wanted to keep it coastal and fun. My family is originally from the island of Ischia so the Amalfi Coast was a natural choice.
Location and how you found it?
It was the first place we saw. On the first night of our planning trip we were walking to dinner and passed by the venue, both noting how beautiful the space was as we glanced at it. We had many meetings lined up and in our tiredness we didn’t connect the dots that we’d be seeing it in the coming days. When we arrived there later in the week we both knew it was the one. Plus, the venue features an ancient seaside grotto that allowed us to host an afterparty in a truly unique space until the early hours.
How did you find The Wedding Club? Tell us about that moment when you found and chose your dress – how did it make you feel when you put it on for the first time?
If I am honest I did very little research and a friend recommended I visit TWC. The team knew what I wanted before I even did and the second I tried on the dress I knew I was done looking. The dress was super classic, yet modern. When you know, you know!
Which designer did you wear?
Monique Lhuillier. I was happy to wear an American designer and honour my US heritage.
Where is the suit from? Why was it the perfect fit?
Adam chose a classic tux from Ralph Lauren, another sweet nod to my birth country by my husband.
How was the party?
All I’ll say is that it ended the next morning!
Wedding planning advice for brides to be?
Trust your instinct and try not to stress. Everything works out in the end. Make sure to have fun.
One moment you’ll never forget:
On the day of our wedding there were strong coastal winds. During our first look the wind blew my veil up so it danced around us as we had a kiss… in turn producing one of my favorite photographs from our wedding. It was a perfectly serene moment to share together before everything started later that day.
