❤️ The TWC Effect – Our brides, their way ❤️

Penny & Adam took their online love story all the way down the aisle with a gorgeous wedding full of love and fun! The couple shared their big day with all of their friends and family, and now us!

How did you meet?
We met on Tinder! My first and only tinder date!

Was it love at first sight?
We spoke non stop for a month before we met in person and already knew we were best friends before we met and were inseparable from then on.

Who proposed and how? Lovely details, please!
Adam proposed on 17 September 2019 whilst we were on holiday in Orlando Florida, down a secluded spot lit path after dark by a river. I had always wanted my proposal recorded and he knew that so set it all up, not so subtly (I did know it was coming as my dad had dropped a few not so subtle hints after Adam had asked him for permission).

Adam couldn’t get the ring box out of his back pocket and by the time he did and bent down on one knee his phone had fallen from where it was propped up so all we got was a recording of the dirt hahaa we just laughed it off and went for a lovely meal to celebrate!

Did you have a theme for your wedding? How did it come about?
The theme was elegant and timeless. I love everything over the top, pink, fluffy and sparkly but I really wanted the wedding to reflect elegant luxury and for it not to be what everyone had expected it to be.

Location and how you found it?
Hawkstone Hall in Shrewsbury. We had come across Hawkstone after many internet searches, we had tried to book a visit there on the same day we were booked to see Peckforton Castle but they didn’t have availability. We visited Peckforton and really loved it, as we were driving home we realised we were passing Hawkstone Hall. Adam insisted we should just pop in whilst we were passing because we really thought nothing would beat Peckforton but it would be worth having a look to remove it from our contender list.

We were shown around by James who was the general manager at the time and we were blown away by his attention to detail and care. We also loved the venue so much but it was James who swayed our decision to get married there.

How did you find The Wedding Club? Tell us about that moment when you found and chose your dress – how did it make you feel when you put it on for the first time?

I found out about the wedding club through my mom’s friend. She recommended that we go to look for a dress. I had looked at quite a few local boutiques but had found that the dresses were gorgeous but missing something and weren’t as extravagant or detailed as I was looking for.

The moment I found my dress was not your typical crying in the mirror moment. I am the type of person that deliberates decisions for a looonng time! The dress had everything I had dreamed of and I could not think of one thing I would change – and we were running late for bottomless brunch, so I took the plunge and said yes! Haha not your usual decision making etiquette but it was 100% the right choice and I couldn’t have been happier.

Which designer did you wear?
Berta

Where is the suit from? Why was it the perfect fit?
The suit was from Moss Bros, Adam designed his own suit at our local branch which worked well for him as he is a very last minute, minimal effort and not materialistic guy. His shoes were Kurt Geiger with black crystals all over to match the subtle sparkles of the day and set him apart from the groomsmen

Did you have speeches? Who performed them?
My dad, Adams brother who was best man.

Did you have a first dance? What song did you choose and why? How was the performance?
I had my first dance with my dad to The World’s Greatest – R Kelly, this was a song my dad played a lot through my childhood and I have always looked up to him like the lyrics in the song.

Adam had a first dance with his mom too to Sunday Morning Maroon Five. He regretted not getting the chance to dance with her at his own parents wedding in his teens and wanted to put that right. It was all very emotional.

How was the party?
Exceptional! Tequila rose shots were flowing all night – we had such a great time with all of our loved ones.

Wedding planning advice for brides to be?
Make sure you choose suppliers you trust. Make sure you love all of their work because things don’t go exactly to plan, there isn’t a dry run, you can’t get suppliers to show you exactly what they are going to do in the flesh so you need to feel confident on what they are going to produce for you.

This takes off a lot of pressure the morning of the wedding. Also things can look very different on pictures that they do in person, my dream flowers didn’t come across in person how I wanted them to – they were slightly more orange than I was expecting but they are exactly how I had imagined on the pictures – so trust your suppliers and be aware that what you ask for on a picture, may look slightly different in real life.

One moment you’ll never forget:
Our first look – the time we got together to process what was about to happen and enjoy watching the day begin together, discussing the dress! Something I couldn’t wait to discuss with him since the moment we got engaged!

I also added my overskirt to the dress after the first look to come down the aisle as an extra surprise for him! I would recommend it to anyone. The feeling of pure love and joy throughout the whole day. The nerves melting away as I walked up the aisle – everything was perfectly imperfect.
