Romantic Como Wedding In Berta & Zuhair Murad Gowns

❤️ The TWC Effect – Our brides, their way ❤️

Lauren and Constantine whisked themselves and their loved ones away to Italy to celebrate their nuptials, a gorgeously romantic wedding that perfectly paired their Irish and Greek roots was on the cards and we can’t wait for you to read all about it with us…

How did you meet?
We met at work!

Was it love at first sight?
For Constantine it was, perseverance paid off.

Who proposed and how? Lovely details, please!
Constantine proposed while we were in Aix-en-Provence at Villa Gallici. We were on our balcony at sunset.

Did you have a theme for your wedding? How did it come about?
There wasn’t a theme, but I wanted it to be soft and romantic, and quite traditional (but fusing Greek and Irish culture).

Location and how you found it?
Villa Pizzo. I always wanted to get married in Italy, and our lovely wedding planner, Juliana Mohr (Europe Weddings) sent us a number of locations in Italy, and we were drawn to the lakes (Lake Como and Lake Garda) and we went to view venues in both before deciding on Villa Pizzo.

How did you find The Wedding Club? Tell us about that moment when you found and chose your dress – how did it make you feel when you put it on for the first time?
My gorgeous friend Montana invited me to attend a Berta trunk show with her and I spied the dress I had been looking at online. It was the first wedding dress that I tried on, and I absolutely loved it. I tried on a few others to be sure, but for me nothing compared. For my second dress, I had thought I was going to go short, but Mel from The Wedding Club said I had to try on this particular dress, and as soon as I put it on, I knew

Which designer did you wear?
The first dress was Berta, the second was Zuhair Murad.

Did you have speeches? Who performed them?
My two maids of honour gave a speech at our night before event.  My dad, husband(!) and the best man spoke on the wedding day. I cried through all of them, they all did such an incredible job, equal parts funny and moving

Did you have a first dance? What song did you choose and why? How was the performance?
We really could not agree on the approach for a first dance. My husband (who hates dancing) for some reason decided he wanted to do a full slow dance. I have no moves, and wanted something more upbeat, and for people to join in pretty quickly. Eventually, I won out and we went with John Legend’s ‘A Good Night’.

How was the party?
The party was much more fun than I imagined, I thought after a long day people might flag (in particular, my husband) but we actually had the best time. When the DJ said it was the last song, I  couldn’t believe it. I didn’t want the night to end.

Wedding planning advice for brides to be?
To try and remember that it will all be worth it, and that you won’t regret it.

One moment you’ll never forget:
Walking down the aisle, seeing all my family, friends and husband before me. It was honestly all I could have asked for
