Kieran and Lauren built a beautiful friendship and family together then took the whole crew to Vegas to tie the knot, a beautiful big day that reflected the lovely duo! Catch up on it all with us here today…
How did you meet?
We met in 2006 at a house party and instantly knew there was a moment of “my soul has met your soul before”. Our friendship grew into best friends and we were too scared to ever let the the relationship grow beyond friendship as we truly understood each other and we never wanted to risk to having each other in our lives in some capacity so even though we both knew deep down the love and connection was deeper than friendship until we knew we could bring our best selves to that relationship.
Was it love at first sight?
We have always felt a magnetic 🧲 energy and connection between us. We have loved each other since the moment we met. We were best friends for years but we felt we could never lose each other so made a conscious effort to never overstep the friendship boundary but in the end Kieran wrote me the most beautiful letter telling me he could not watch me not being loved and cared for correctly and would do anything in his power to make us work and give me everything I deserved. Kieran is and always has been my soulmate.

Engaged – 1/11/22
We travelled to Australia and New Zealand for my brother’s Scott’s wedding in Auckland with my two older children, Camden 13 and Luella 11. We visited my other brother, Alex in Queenstown South Island. It was the last day of our 5 week trip and unbeknownst to me Kieran had brought the engagement ring 💍 with him and carried it every day for 5 weeks!
We had dinner reservations at a lovely restaurant but he asked me if I’d like to take a walk around Lake Wakatipu – we had just had a history lesson at the aquarium in Queenstown about how the chief of the town’s heart beats underneath. My brother had organised my mum, stepdad and kids to be waiting in the Irish bar where Kieran asked my children to propose with him as if for the first time so they felt included in our next adventure.
Did you have a theme for your wedding? How did it come about?
We both have big families and the logistics and costs and stress of a big wedding was really putting me off. It felt silly to spend such a huge amount on one day when the likelihood would be stressful and I wouldn’t be present. So we decided to take the kids to Disney World Florida. We had just had a baby together, a little girl called Memphis! We are both Elvis fans and Memphis was born to “Love me Tender” so we started pricing up the Little White Chapel 💒 in Las Vegas!
Location and how you found it?
The Little White Chapel is I believe the most famous Vegas chapel so it was easy to find!
How did you find The Wedding Club? Tell us about that moment when you found and chose your dress – how did it make you feel when you put it on for the first time?
Well I met Kelly from The Wedding Club when I lived in Camden Town – those days were my crazy days were Amy Winehouse, Peter Doherty, bar hopping and gorilla gigs! Kelly had visited me in Jersey when I had my first son Camden and we had always stayed in contact but our lives had developed. I had found recovery from addiction and opened a fashion brand when I was nominated for a style award and The Wedding Club helped me find a dress for the award ceremony but when I was in the shop I said “When I get married I’m definitely going to get my dress from here”.
I had always imagined trying on these long extravagant gowns but I was 5 months postpartum and when it came down to it the first dress I tried on was the winner. Being postpartum the Berta Dress showed off my best asset, my legs, it was too small but I knew that was THE ONE! So I flew back to Jersey and found a dress maker Iona from The Clothing Maintenance company who used my mum’s wedding dress to build a panel in the back of the dress to give me more room! Iona nailed the amendments without losing the design or shape of the design.
The Wedding Club pulled a few dresses for me with less than 24 hrs notice and still gave me their World Class customer service making me feel very special.

Where is the suit from? Why was it the perfect fit?
We were in America 🇺🇸 for 2 weeks before the wedding so the clock was on to find Kieran’s suit and one to match for Camden. I wanted my daughter to have a similar style dress to mine too. Memphis wore a beautiful white dress as well.
Kieran and Camden wanted a similar suit to Daniel Craig in Layer Cake with the creme and baby blue linen especially in the Vegas heat! We found the suits and Luella’s dress in Macy’s Department store!
Did you have speeches? Who performed them?
My son Camden was Best Man and his speech was hilarious from a 13 year olds brutally honest mind but also very touching. My daughter Luella wrote a lovely speech as did my stepdad and Kieran. They were all very touching and made the reception dinner.
Did you have a first dance? What song did you choose and why? How was the performance?
We had our first dance in the chapel! As Elvis Married us he sang “Can’t Help Falling in Love With You”. Camden, my son walked me down the aisle to “Love me Tender” the same song baby Memphis came into the world to!
How was the party?
We had a reception dinner on the balcony at the Bellagio Hotel overlooking the fountains and the Eiffel Tower, just 7 of us. It was intimate and perfect. Walking through Vegas and everyone shouting “Congratulations” was a buzz!!
Wedding planning advice for brides to be?
Stop trying to please everyone else, it’s your day no one else’s, a marriage is so much more than a day.
One moment you’ll never forget:
When Kieran started repeating Elvis’s vows in his accent! My son walking me down the aisle. My daughter Luella crying happy tears at Kieran’s vows to me.
Luella and I made my head band out of my mum’s wedding dress. We had a girls sleepover in Florida and we made my headband and veil. We stapled and sewed the lace from my mum’s dress and glued the pearls on, it turned out better than I had expected!
