Elegantly Romantic Somerset Wedding In Nicole & Felicia Gown
❤️ The TWC Effect – Our brides, their way ❤️
Kate & Chris spent a decade writing their perfect love story and one grand day celebrating it! From a kiss at uni to a proposal overlooking the New York skyline, we have all of the romantic details right here…

How did you meet?
It all began during Freshers’ Week at Bath University. Two students broke into my halls at 4 am after hearing we had the best lounge and bean bags (student priorities!). Luckily, I was still awake, and we quickly became friends. A few days later, they came along to my pre-drinks – this time bringing Chris. And that’s where it all really began.

Was it love at first sight?
Absolutely. We met in my university kitchen, danced the night away, and shared a cheeky kiss on the student union dance floor. Playing 20 questions, we discovered we had so much in common – even birthdays just a day apart. From that night on, I had a feeling he was the one. Over a decade later, I still feel so lucky we met at just 18.

Who proposed and how? Lovely details, please!
One evening, Chris casually asked me: “If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?” My answer was simple – New York City. That very night, in true spontaneous fashion, we booked the flights.
Fast forward around six months, we found ourselves in NYC. One early morning, Chris suggested we go for a sunrise walk through Gantry Plaza Park, with the Manhattan skyline glittering across the river. Before NY came to life, he dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him. It was the most breathtaking moment – made even more special by the fact that Chris had secretly arranged for a photographer (disguised as a dog walker!) to capture it all.
But the surprises didn’t stop. The rest of the day was filled with amazing moments: a couples’ massage at Aire NYC, a private table at Manhattan with beautiful city views, and a room at The William Vale with a 360° wraparound balcony, roses, and champagne. Chris had even thought of the smallest details – like my cozy jumper embroidered with “in my engagement era” – which I refused to take off!
It was truly a dream, and a day we will cherish forever.

Did you have a theme for your wedding? How did it come about?
From the moment we stepped into Brympton d’Evercy, we knew it was the one. The Grade I listed house has such timeless beauty and character that it instantly set the tone for our day. We decided on a modern vintage theme – we wanted a balance of elegance and tradition, with a fresh twist. We styled the house with beautiful fresh florals – predominantly white with touches of pale blush and blue. It was stunning!

Location and how you found it?
We always knew we wanted to get married somewhere sentimental, and since we first met in Somerset, it felt only right to begin our search there. After viewing countless venues across the county, we were almost ready to give up – until our very last visit took us to Brympton d’Evercy.
The moment we drove down its tree-lined avenue and caught sight of the breathtaking Grade I listed house, with its own 13th-century church nestled beside it, we felt something special. Wandering the beautiful grounds, it became clear: this was the one. Brympton had the romance and the history we had been searching for – it truly felt like the perfect place to begin the next chapter of our story.

How did you find The Wedding Club? Tell us about that moment when you found and chose your dress – how did it make you feel when you put it on for the first time?
I had a simple goal when dress shopping: I wanted to feel “WOW.” After an extensive search of bridal shops, I made a list of my favourites. The Wedding Club stood out because of its incredible selection of top designers and dresses. I knew it was a must visit.
At the Knightsbridge store, the team pulled out my N+F dress, and the moment I saw it, my mouth instantly dropped. As soon as I slipped it on, I felt amazing – I looked in the mirror and, through my reflection, saw my mum, sister, and me all in tears. It was the one, and I hoped that my now husband would think the same.
On 11.07.25, as I walked down the aisle, I found out my husband agreed. In over ten years together, I’ve only seen him cry twice – and one of those times was when he saw me in my wedding dress. I felt so lucky to be wearing it, it was truly exquisite!

Which designer did you wear?
Nicole + Felicia

Where is the suit from? Why was it the perfect fit?
Chris’ suit was from Suit Supply, and it was completely personalised and made to measure. Every detail was beautifully designed – from the number of buttons on the white tuxedo sleeve to the delicate embroidery of “K&C” in silk thread on the collar. It was perfect, and when he wore it, he looked beyond handsome.

Did you have speeches? Who performed them?
Yes – who doesn’t love a good speech?! I actually gave one the night before, when we hosted our family and bridal party for a relaxed evening of games, cocktails, and a BBQ.
On the wedding day itself, Chris, my dad, Stephen, and our best man, James, all delivered speeches. It’s safe to say there wasn’t a dry eye in the room!

Did you have a first dance? What song did you choose and why? How was the performance?
Our first dance was to Precious Love (Refreshed) by James Morrison. We chose it because it holds such a special memory for us. When Chris proposed in New York, later that evening in our rooftop room in Brooklyn, he put music on the speakers – and Precious Love came on. We had this magical moment of “wow, we’re engaged, and we’re in the middle of NYC,” completely wrapped up in our engagement bubble.
When it came to choosing a first dance song, we knew it had to be that one. We danced the rumba, adding a few turns along the way. It was beautiful and very emotional – I’m pretty sure we both cried (again!)! Now that song fills us with not just one, but two of the most precious moments of our lives.

How was the party?
The party was everything we dreamed of. We had free flowing drinks all day – from champagne and Aperols to Pimms and, of course, our signature Picantes (a spicy margarita with a sweet twist!).
We kicked things off in the courtyard, gathered around the fire pit with a trio acoustic band setting the mood. As the evening rolled in, a six-piece opened the dance floor. Chris and I danced the night away, completely swept up in the moment.
The night ended on something truly special. At 1am, with a circle of the majority of our guests still standing strong (impressively so!), everyone joined in as we sang our hearts out to Unwritten and Angels. It was the perfect ending.

Wedding planning advice for brides to be?
Celebrate EVERY single step of the journey. Don’t save the champagne just for the wedding day – open a bottle when your invitations go out, another when your cake samples arrive, and another when you’ve found your outfits. Those little milestones are worth making big.
Find ways to weave in special experiences that will stay with you forever. We chose our wedding fragrance at a Diptyque perfume consultation, and it turned something simple into one of our favourite memories. When you go to visit your venue or church, turn it into a spa weekend together – soak it all in, slow down, and enjoy the ride.
Because the truth is, your wedding isn’t just one day. It’s a whole season of love, joy, and little moments worth celebrating.

One moment you’ll never forget:
At the very end of our wedding day, once everyone had drifted off to bed, Chris had the idea to grab a blanket and make our way to the sofas on the south terrace overlooking the lake. Under the night sky, we watched the moon slowly set and reminisced on the most amazing period of our lives.
It felt like the perfect pause, just the two of us, to soak it all in. A moment of stillness – one we’ll cherish forever.
And the best part? It gave me an excuse to stay in my wedding dress for just a few extra hours!
