Deliciously Dolce Tuscan Wedding In Vivienne Westwood, Houghton Gowns And Savannah Miller Cape

❤️ The TWC Effect – Our brides, their way ❤️

Nina & Jasper were truly living La Dolce Vita during their gorgeous Tuscan wedding! The pair have swept us away on their stylish and love filled adventure, here are all the gorgeous details…

How did you meet?

We met at a party in London via mutual friends. He was modelling and travelling a lot/ living in Scotland when he wasn’t travelling so the first year and our kind of ‘dating’ period was a combo of European weekends together or to and from Scotland/ London!

Was it love at first sight?

I think he would say for him it was hehe but we quickly learnt to know after the first date or two we were both obsessed with each other and it just felt so right

Who proposed and how? Lovely details, please!

He proposed on our anniversary in The Shard. It took me by complete surprise which I really wasn’t expecting as I’m the planner for us both. We always do an overnight stay somewhere for our anniversary so I didn’t think anything unusual or suspicious but he said he wanted to surprise me which slightly caught my alarm bells.

He took me for lunch at La Dame de Pic and I had actually texted my sister in the bathroom at lunch that it maybe could be happening but then the dessert came out with happy anniversary so I thought he was just being extra cute and special. Then we got to our hotel room to change into our swimwear to head to the pool and when I came out of the bathroom he was on one knee. It was perfect. We both cried then rang our families and safe to say a lot of bubbles were drunk that day haha.

Did you have a theme for your wedding? How did it come about?

Not really. Jasper is half Italian half Scottish and he had always fantasied of a big elaborate wedding, surprisingly it was him who wanted the big wedding more than me! But I’m all or nothing so once I said let’s go for it I was going to do it to the absolute utmost nth degree haha! We didn’t have any theme, we just wanted it to be a big, fun, wild and very dolce vita Italian style wedding.

Location and how you found it?

I actually found the location online and I was obsessed with it from the photos so we actually booked the venue before seeing it in person as there was only one remaining date available for two years away! It was just outside a little town called Volterra in Tuscany and as soon as we saw the venue in person for the first time we fell in love with it even more. It is called Villa Di Ulignano and it’s such a special gem tucked away in the beautiful rolling Tuscan Hills.

How did you find The Wedding Club? Tell us about that moment when you found and chose your dress – how did it make you feel when you put it on for the first time?

I knew since I was a little girl my wedding dress was always going to be Vivienne Westwood. I grew up watching my mum get ready for events and dinners and a Westwood dress is her staple when she goes out. She has them in so many different shapes, colours and cuts (it’s very good to know I will inherit all of her beautiful dresses haha) I have the exact same figure as my mother and as I grew older, I knew why. Nothing makes you feel as confident and glamourous as a Westwood and knowing how well a VW corset fits me I knew it had to be Westwood. The Wedding Club was one of the best stockists for Vivienne Westwood in London and I was so lucky to get the last Westwood collection the year VW sadly passed.

Which designer did you wear?

Vivienne Westwood dress, Homa Veil and Sophie Webster Wifey for Lifey shoes.

Where is the suit from? Why was it the perfect fit?

As Jasper is half Scottish, he wore Tartan trews in his family tartan and a smoking jacket. Both were bespoke made by the fabulous Stewart Christie tailor in Edinburgh.

Did you have speeches? Who performed them?

Yes we did. My father, Lee Martin, our best man Andrew Harris and my husband Jasper.

Did you have a first dance? What song did you choose and why? How was the performance?

We did indeed. It was forever by the Little Dippers. We are both not dancers (AT ALL may I add) and we didn’t expect any great moves but watching it back via one of our friends videos we were surprised that we didn’t look half bad hahaha.

How was the party?

Too fun and too wild!

Wedding planning advice for brides to be?

Keep every expense on a spreadsheet: When the purchase was made, company and a brief description then print off the receipt and keep it in a file. It really helps to keep on top of everything and know exactly where you are. Set strict deadlines on everything and do not leave anything to the last minute. Have your playlist deadline finished a month before. Menus done three weeks before. Things like that. So the two weeks run up to your wedding you can actually enjoy the excitement and not have the fear of how much there is to do

One moment you’ll never forget:

Walking down the aisle to Only You by the Platters holding my dads hand and seeing my future husband looking at me and crying. It made me cry my eyes out too. It was just such pure love, joy and happiness it makes me emotional even thinking about it today! It was the most special moment of my entire life
