A Spring Soirée to Remember at Berwick House

June 20, 2025 | Tags: ,

This Spring, we had the joy of stepping into a storybook setting for an overnight soirée at the fairytale venue of Berwick House in Shropshire. We were welcomed into the childhood home of the charming Will Angell-James and his wife, Kassidy. The event was beautifully orchestrated by Jade, award-winning wedding planner and owner of Shropshire Events. Nestled in the Shropshire countryside, Berwick House was the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable celebration of modern elegance steeped in Georgian grandeur.

An Arrival Like No Other

From the moment we arrived, the tone was set for a truly indulgent experience. Greeted with subtly original cocktails and canapés cooked over open fire by none other than The Shropshire Lad, Adam Purnell, we were treated like royalty from arrival to check out. The warmth of the hosts and the buzz of creative energy and style made us feel instantly at home.

A ‘ Turn’ Around the Estate

With time to explore the estate, we were guided by Kassidy through Berwick’s exquisite Chapel and manicured gardens, soaking in the serenity before settling into our suite. Opulently designed by the uber-talented Lucinda Martin, Berwick has 18 bedrooms, which are collectively, a perfect blend of modern comfort and Georgian heritage – it was a dream. Our room was spacious, elegant, and effortlessly romantic, it reminded us exactly why Berwick House is such a beloved wedding venue.

Spring Blooms & Bridal Inspiration

After freshening up in our… 5 star boudoir… we made our way down the chandelier lit staircase for dinner.

The Drawing Room, which is a space that speaks for itself without the need for grand statement pieces, was styled to perfection. Soft Spring florals by Edwina Lowe, impeccably matched tableware and intricate menus by Harris and Bloom.. it all felt like walking into a bridal vision board. The décor struck a beautiful balance between seasonal trend and timeless sophistication—something we always strive for in our bridal collections.

A Culinary Experience to Remember

As the evening unfolded, we were treated to a tasting menu by Garni Events; each dish a masterpiece in flavour and presentation. Expertly paired with a wine flight curated by Tim Franklin, General Manager at Berwick, the meal was nothing short of Michelin-worthy.

A Touch of Music and Sweet Surprises

As we dined, the talented James Broadfoot provided an acoustic set that created the perfect laid-back, romantic ambiance. And just when we thought the evening couldn’t be more delightful, we were each surprised with our very own individual mini wedding cake from Farmhouse Cakes – each one just as exquisite in flavour as it was in design.

Evening Reflections & Inspiring Conversations

Cocktails flowed into conversation as the evening drew to a close. We wrapped up the night with a brilliant podcast session, second in the season of the Bridal Blueprint, and one of the most engaging we’ve had the pleasure of being part of. It was a space full of creativity, warmth, and connection – the kind of energy that reminds us why we love the world of weddings so much. Watch/Listen HERE.

Time to Leave… But Take Us Back!

The Spring Soirée at Berwick House was a beautiful reminder that weddings are more than just a day; they’re an experience. After a platter of pastries and a bacon buttie (Berwick’s consistent balance of sophisticated but unpresuming) we left, inspired, grateful, and full of ideas for the season ahead.
