Wedding Inspiration for 2026

Are we all safe in the knowledge that it is the Year of the (Fire) Horse?

Known for its fierce independence and refusal to follow tradition this is the same energy defining weddings for 2026 – romantic and timeless put powerful, confident and passionate to the core.

As a planner I’m seeing traits of ‘this is unmistakably our wedding’ whether that means that couples are trend-forecasting, being playful with new ideas or going heavy on luxury corners of their big day.. there is definitely a spark, if not a fully intentional emotional charge for this year’s wedding vibe!

Let’s start with the DRESS (of course!)

Commanding the aisle

The structured ball gown – is there a cut that is more couture.. more refined in its expression of femininity?

A wedding dress should be a singular work of wearable art, it is not to be re-purposed, not a party dress but a once-in-a-lifetime piece of craftsmanship.

This cut of dress is everything… architecturally impactful and just the most unmistakably bridal.

“A wedding gown is not just a dress – it’s a personal statement” – Vera Wang

If drama, elegance and a little bit of bridal attitude all came together in one unforgettable creation then this… my Spring/Summer 2026 dress of choice… is that beauty.

Some dresses whisper romance; this one shouts it from the rooftops. Strapless..ballgown.. lace (highlighted beautifully by the nude underlay).. and a sexy leg reveal side slit.

Senstudio (sister brand to Nicole + Felicia) believe in creating bridal gowns that exude sophistication and grace. Well mission accomplished I say.

Texture and movement lead the way this year, with voluminous A-lines, dramatic trains, structured sleeves and flower embellishments, all defining bridal couture – a celebration of strength, confidence and powerful choices.

Ultimately these designs reflect strength, self-expression and individuality. After all it’s not just about how the dress makes you look but how it makes you feel – confident, radiant and inherently you.

A sweet new neutral

Shifting focus to the bridal party, a keyword we’re going to see on repeat this year is ‘buttercream’. And whilst it’s tempting to deviate down the wedding cake frosting route, I am of course referring to bridesmaid dress palettes.

When we talk about buttercream we mean soft, warm, beautifully balanced creamy tones, not stark yellow or even lemon.

It’s a shade that works effortlessly all year round. Light and fresh for Spring/Summer weddings, but equally at home in Autumn/Winter when paired with richer, deeper hues or pops of colour (or even black). And for couples who prefer a more restrained colour scheme, buttercream teamed with pure white is undeniably sophisticated – from florals to stationery, accessories and styling details – is creates a tonal look that is endlessly versatile and perfectly chic.

Served with style

One of the biggest trends leading the way for 2026 is the rise of carts and stations. From pizza bars and tiramisu tables to gelato carts and s’mores stations, couples are swapping traditional service for interactive moments and memorable guest experiences.

As a planner I love to see personality and thoughtfully designed fun at a wedding. These ‘mingle stations’ are an up market way of creating a playful, memorable detail and an element of surprise that creates that ‘ooh’ factor.

Untamed Elegance

This year’s wedding flowers are all about expression and statement. Organic beauty with a modern twist. Think wild and whimsical meadow-inspired aisle arrangements, table centres with cascading garlands that spill over the edges, and bold bridal bouquets bursting with drama.

2026 weddings are defined by intention. This is not about following trends for the sake of it, but about choosing details that resonate, that feel purposeful and personal.

From couture gowns that command attention, to elegant buttercream palettes, from immersive guest experiences to statement florals, weddings this year feel bold yet romantic, playful yet refined – a true reflection of couples who know who they are, what they want and exactly how they’re going to celebrate it.
